Although not exhaustive, the timeline below outlines some of the contributions, initiative's and events We Are Ports have provided since its formation in 2017:

2024

Members 

Contributions

February - WAP members provided £1000 to We Are Ports TV to allow them to purchase a new camera for the recording and streaming of club matches & interviews.  

2023

Members 

Contributions

February - Held a community event prior to a home game versus Glenavon, providing food and guest speaker, former player, Trevor Smith.

March - We Are Ports provided £4500 towards costs associated with planning permission for the ground developments, which will benefit the local community, supporters and club teams. 

​

March - Members provided £300 towards the We Are Ports Community Fun Day.

​

July - Members provided £750 towards a Community Fun Day held prior to the home game versus Ballymena.

​

August - Members voted to continue providing funding for We Are Ports TV for the 2023/24 season.

​

October - Members provided £219 to purchase a food warmer to be used at WAP and club events and functions.  Members also provided £625 to purchase a new line marker to be used at Shamrock Park. 

​

November - Members provided £3000 towards covering club related insurance costs.

​

December - We Are Ports provided funding and arranged 45 community Christmas dinners at a cost of £625.

2022

Members 

Contributions

January - Donated £1000 towards the Portadown FC ladies football team to cover training facility costs.

February - Donated £3920 towards the new Portadown club shop construction and tarmac within the shop area. 

​

March - We Are Ports presented the Portadown branch of the Royal British Legion with a poppy embroidered Portadown shirt as a token of thanks for their assistance at the club's annual remembrance service.

​

May - Held our Annual General Meeting, which was attended by first team coaching staff to give members an insight into end of season work.  We also provided members with access to reduced pricing for the PFC end of season dinner.

​

May - We Are Ports were given confirmation from the Northern Ireland Charity Commission that we have been granted charity status. 

 

May - Members voted to provide Portadown FC with £500 per month towards training facility costs from May 2022 until June 2023.

​

May - Members voted to provide £1250 towards upgrading the players tunnel at Shamrock Park, and provide £1000 towards the Portadown Youth teams participating in this summers Milk Cup. 

​

July - Members voted to provide £750 towards the We Are Ports Community Fun Day to be held on the 8th August at Shamrock Park. 

​

August - Set up a We Are Ports Walking Group for members, non-members and the local community to attend free of charge starting in Oct 2022.

​

September - Provide £50 for signage for the new community and family area in the home stand and provided £300 towards running a family fan zone prior to the Glenavon home game.

​

December - Provide £200 to run a community Santa Saturday event prior to a festive home game, which included food, Santa hats and kids games.

​

December - We Are Ports provided and distributed over 50 Christmas dinners to members of the community.  

2021

Members 

Contributions

January - Purchased a new washing machine for the club kit manager​ to prepare kit for club teams for training and match days.

​​

March - Donated £500 towards legal fees and £1000 to changing room refurbishments.

​​

April - Held an online event, with guests Matthew Tipton, Paul Finnegan & Adam McCallum.​ This allowed supporters to socially connect during the Covid-19 lockdown.   We also donated £3000 to the refurbishment of the Shamrock Park social area.

​

June - Provided £600 to purchase training items to be used by the clubs mens, women's and youth teams.

​

July - Provided £600 to purchase new nets and flags for Shamrock Park.  We held a social event attended by Matthew Tipton, Michael Ruddy, Sammi McLeod and Oran Jackson.

​

November - We provided £1000 towards pitch improvements to ensure the pitch was protected over the winter months.

​

November - We held a community pre-match brunch supporters, at a supporters event where Portadown legend Michael Collins was the guest speaker.  

​

December - Donated £129.60 to provide a cabinet and signage for the new club defibrillator.  We Are Ports also provided funding for the clubs community 'Santa Saturday' event.

​

December - We Are Ports provided and distributed over 50 Christmas dinners to members of the community.  

2020

Members 

Contributions

January - Contributed towards PlayerTek equipment for use by the mens, women's and youth teams.  In addition to this we provided £550 to Portadown Football Club for development projects.

February - Held community brunch prior to the home game v QUB which included food, exclusive viewing of latest We Were Ports episode and a pre-match Q&A with the manager, Matthew Tipton.  WAP also contributed £550 to Portadown Football Club for development projects.

​​

March - Donated £2050 to Portadown Football Club for facility running costs.

​

June - Donated £1865.22 to fund 50% of a new sprinkler system for Shamrock Park, which will benefit all the teams that use the pitch. 

​

September - Donated £1865.22 to fund the second instalment of the new sprinkler system for Shamrock Park, with We Are Ports receiving a 1 year extension on the sponsored sign around the pitch and being Official PFC Business Club members.​  We also sponsored Paul Finnegans home shirt for the 2020/21 season through the PSS Shirt Sponsorship Scheme..

​

October - Donated £480.00 to purchase an ice machine for use by club physio and players.  We also provided £90.00 to purchase a badge/shirt press for use at the club shop at Shamrock Park. Members voted to continue to sponsor We Are Ports TV for the 2020/21 season, as this benefits all supports who can not get to games by keeping them involved.

​

November - Members committed to sponsoring the Player of the Month Award for the 2020/21 season, and donated £1250.00 to purchase sand to assist with pitch maintenance during the winter months.

2019

Members 

Contributions

January - Purchased new ballboy/girl stools.

February - Paid for Stevie Cowans and Sandy Frasers flights for the end of season dinner.

​​

March - Donated £3000 to Portadown Football Club for development projects.

​​

March -  We held a community Q&A event with the manager, Matthew Tipton.

​​

May - Members committed to contributing £550 per month to Portadown Football Club for the next 12 months to assist with a range of running costs.  We Are Ports received a 1 year extension on the sponsored sign around the pitch and being Business Club members.  Members recommitted to being the Title Sponsor of Ports TV for the 2019/20 season.  WAP also paid £1200 towards training facilities used by club teams.

June - Contributed £550 to Portadown Football Club for development projects.

​​

July - Produced and distributed flyers promoting the club around 5000 homes in the Portadown community.  We also contributed £550 to the club and Sponsored Luke Wilson's home shirt for the 2019/20 season through the PSS Shirt Sponsorship Scheme.

August - We held a community Q&A event with the manager Matthew Tipton and new players Paddy McNally & Bobby Edwards.  We contributed £550 to Portadown Football Club for development projects.

​​

September - Provided £1000 to purchase equipment for the clubs recovery room & purchased equipment for the media team to help improve the services provided by WAP:TV.  Contributed £550 to Portadown Football Club.

​​

October - Contributed £550 to Portadown Football Club for a number of projects.

​​

November - Members voted to sponsor the Under-20's player of the month trophies for the remainder of the season.  Members also voted to purchase a book of tickets for each WAP member for the clubs Christmas draw & Contributed £550 to Portadown Football Club.

December - Members voted to make a contribution to the Jerry Thompson Go Fund Me page & Contributed £550 to Portadown Football Club.

2018

Members 

Contributions

February - Held a community event with PFC Legend Brian Strain and donated £500 towards Portadown u20's trip to Middlesbrough FC.

 

March - Held a community event with new Manager Matthew Tipton & Assistant Manager David Miskelly.

 

May - Donated £3000 towards the excavation behind training pitch and Shamrock Park to extend training facilities for club teams.

 

June - Donated £500 to We Are Ports TV to upgrade equipment and buy an interview board/backdrop.  Also committed to being the Title Sponsor of Ports TV for the 2018/19 season.

 

July - Donated £1200 towards sand for the pitch, with We Are Ports also receiving a 1 year extension on the sponsored sign around the pitch.  We also sponsored Jack Conlon's home shirt for the 2018/19 season through the PSS Shirt Sponsorship Scheme.

 

October - Donated £3035 to cover cost of St. Johns Ambulance service at games.

 

November - Committed to covering 3 club invoices totalling £5968.

 

December - Community Q&A event with manager Matthew Tipton.

2017

Members 

Contributions

August - Donated £1200 towards purchase of new Lawn Mower for Shamrock Park Grounds Keeping and new We Are Ports advertising pitchside at Shamrock Park.  We also donated £500 towards two new Tumble Dryers for Kit Room and held a members meeting with Ronnie Stinson (Chairman), Niall Henderson (Club Captain), Andy Kilmartin & Kyle Neill.

 

September - Bought 'We Are Ports' branded bibs & fold away stools for Ball Boys/Girls.

 

October - Members meeting with Ronnie Stinson (Chairman), Paul Jackson (Director), Niall Currie & Fra Brennan.

​​

November - Committed to transferring 30% of all Monthly revenue directly to club from this month onwards for club projects.

 

December - Committed to becoming Title Sponsor of Ports TV which has been rebranded to #WeArePortsTV and donated £4000 to Board of Directors due to recent cash flow issues at the club after relegation.
